Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian was born is Aleppo, Syria in 1970. He received his elementary education at Sahakian School of Aleppo. In 1983, he was accepted to the seminary of the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. In 1988, he was ordained as a deacon by Bishop Vartan Demirdjian. Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian graduated from the seminary of Antelias in 1990. From 1990 to 1991, he taught religion and Armenian history at the Haigazian School in Aleppo. Furthermore, he worked in the editorial offices of "Kantsasar", the official publication of the Armenian Prelacy of Aleppo.
He married Talin Tanachian on February 29, 1992 and together they moved to Paris, France. He was ordained as a married priest in 1992 by Archbishop Kude Nacachian at St. John Baptist Armenian Church. In 1992, he was appointed as the pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in Chaville, France and served the parish until June 2002. Later, Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian was appointed as the pastor of St. Mary Magdalene Armenian Church in Belgium. In 2005 Fr. Haroutioun was invited to become the pastor at Holy Cross of Varak in Paris, and served until 2010. In 2010, the Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian invited Fr. Haroutioun to serve as the pastor of the Mission Parish of Ventura County.
In September 2011, Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian was assigned as Parish Priest of St. James Armenian Apostolic Church in Los Angeles by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian and Yeretsgin Talin are blessed with two children; Norayr and Mayda.
